Plastic Process Skids

Process skids, pump skids, pipe skids, or just skids, as they're sometimes called are used in a variety of applications across many markets.

Chicago Plastic builds skids for everything from wastewater to water harvesting and from power plant FGD to semi-conductor processing. We only use the highest grade components and can build to nearly any configuration to suit the site. Our skid base materials can be carbon steel, stainless steel, HDPE, or fiberglass and many include secondary containment sump capacities up to 200% to protect against spills or leaks. Pipe materials include PVC, CPVC, polypropylene, PVDF, stainless steel, copper, and more. Contact us today to discuss how we can help with your project.

Semiconductor Skid

The semiconductor skid pictured here has a stainless steel skid base fabricated in-house to support the pipe work.  It has a multitude of sophisticated instruments and is connected with FEP tubing and PFA tubing. We can work closely with your engineering staff to help design and build a flouropolymer pipe skid for your application.

Containment Skid

Chicago Plastic Systems builds our plastic skid bases from corrosion resistant thermoplastic like HDPE, polypro and others. We are able to custom engrave lettering, logos or graphics into them and provide skids in many colors. The skid above incorporates pumps, controls, automation and instrumentation and has built in contaniment.

Harvested Water Skid

To meet some the new green initiative including LEEDS certification, many locations are utilizing water harvesting. This is the process of reclaiming water from sources such as roof/driveway runoff or recycling other waste water.  We build water harvesting skids used for filtration, processing, chlorinating, or bosster pump skids to move the purified water.

Deionized Water Skid

The skid above which is also referred to as a DI water skid (or RO/DI skid if the water undergoes reverse osmosis and deionization) uses special Beta polypro piping materials.  We weld this piping using non-contact infrared butt welding.  Socket welding and fusion welding are also available.  We supply SYGEF, PROGEF, Polypure, PP-Pure and many other brands of pipe.
