PolyPropylene Plastic Fabrication
Polypropylene, or polypro, is a versatile thermoplastic manufactured by combining propylene monomers. This material is available in homopolymer and copolymer forms and has the following properties:

- Resists most acids, alkalis, degreasing agents and organic solvents
- Non-staining

Propylene Homopolymer Applications
Propylene homopolymer, or PPH, is a general-purpose material that exhibits strong corrosion resistance, tensile strength, and stiffness at elevated temperatures. It also possesses excellent resistance to organic solvents and degreasing agents as well as electrolytic attack. Lightweight and with a maximum temperature rating of 210 degrees Fahrenheit, propylene homopolymer is ideal for a variety of applications. Examples include:
- Plenums and manifolds
- Secondary containment
- Valve bodies
- Plating and anodizing process equipment
- Pump components
- Storage tanks
Propylene Copolymer Applications
While nearly identical to propylene homopolymer in many respects, propylene copolymer, or PPC, is less heat resistant but has better impact strength. It also has increased stress crack resistance and low-temperature toughness. Common applications include:
- Die cutting pads
- Water and foam tanks
- Plating and anodizing process equipment
- Fabricated parts
- Hinges
- Containment tanks
